Opulent Inner-City Apartment Transformation

Secon Constructions were engaged by an interior designer to transform an old, run-down apartment in East Melbourne into a sophisticated and luxurious new space with all the modern comforts of home. The design brief was simple, yet the space needed to be functional, with a touch of old-school opulence. Throughout the project, we faced various challenges, such as a limited ability to access the site through the apartment block, as well as the fact that all walls in the build were solid brick, which made running services extremely difficult. Despite this, we revived this apartment to great success, creating a brand-new, fully tiled bathroom and a European laundry, built into a tight space. We installed new electric heating and cooling systems and fresh American Oak Flooring throughout. We also created a brand-new kitchen consisting of natural oak veneer boards and unique designer tiles and stone. This was beautifully offset with luxurious brushed brass fittings, which we incorporated throughout, as well as new external timber sliding doors with double-glazed glass to help insulate the apartment. Although simple, this interior design scheme radiates sophisticated charm, while utilising high-quality and hard-wearing materials that will last. Clever design choices like sliding doors and extra storage help maximise space in the apartment and help it become more functional. The outcome? One delighted client is now able to embrace luxurious living, despite inhabiting a smaller space.
